Boy (12) injured after hit and run

An appeal has been launched after a 12-year-old ended up in hospital after being knocked from his bike by a motorist in a hit and run incident.

The boy was not seriously injured in the incident, which occurred at 5.55pm on West Elloe Avenue, Spalding, on Saturday, November 4.
He was left badly bruised and shaken by the incident, his family have said.
Now Lincolnshire Police have appealed for anyone who may have seen the incident, which involved a silver Mercedes, to come forward.
The family wish to remain anonymous but the victim’s father said his son was with his 16-year-old brother biking near to the family home.
They were wearing lights and crossing the road from one cycle path to another.
He said a man had initially stopped and got out of the car, but then got back in and drove off.
“My son suffered quite a few cuts and bruises and he’s not as mobile as he usually is,” said the father. “He’s missing out on all the sports that he usually does as he’s in too much discomfort.
“My eldest witnessed it all and it really shook him up. He shouted at the man when he got out of his car.
“He called me when the man drove off. If he hadn’t been there I’m not sure how my youngest would have got home.
“Thankfully home was only a couple of hundred yards away.”
A spokesman for Lincolnshire Police said: “Our enquiries are ongoing.
“We are appealing for anyone who was around West Elloe Avenue, at the Pinchbeck Road end, Spalding, at the time to contact us with any information or dashcam footage that would assist.
“Anyone with any information is asked to call 101 quoting incident 317 of 4 November or email [email protected] adding the incident number in the subject heading.”
