Tigers tamed by second-half strikes

Holbeach United let a half-time lead slip as they suffered a battling 2-1 defeat at high-flying FC Peterborough last Wednesday night.
Flynn Hyde fired the Tigers into an impressive half-time advantage at the Millfield Autoparts Stadium, but the fourth-placed hosts hit back with goals from Vitor Vaz and David Yisah to turn the game on its head in favour of the hosts.
The defeat leaves Holbeach, who were without a game over the weekend, down in 14th place in the Eastern Counties League, Division One North standings.
The Tigers were back in action last night (Wednesday) as they hosted Haverhill Borough at Carter’s Park (result not known as we went to press).
They are back on the road this Saturday with a trip to Diss Town (3pm), then have another away date at Wroxham Reserves next Wednesday (April 1, 7.45pm) as the season heads towards a conclusion.
Once they’ve cleared that run of games, just four more fixtures remain for Holbeach, who end their season on April 18.
Tigers: Sellars, Akyuz, Roberts, Bodibe, Goult, Kacirek, Williams, Nicholson, Wright, Coehlo, Hyde. Subs: Oldham, Shenille, Szablowski, West, Garner. Subs used: Oldham, Shenile, West, Garner.
Attendance: 126.
