Bourne B side on song at leaders

Bourne SC A are just one point clear at the top of Division One of the Spalding and District League following a 4-2 loss.

They went down to clubmates Bourne SC B who jumped up to third thanks to the win.
Liam Ennis (O35), Elliot Gaunt (O28) and Gary Surridge (O7) were the winners for the B team, while Mark Gray (O105) and Carl Gibson (O21) got the points for the leaders.
Gray knocked in a 50 break on his way to a win over Jason Bates (O77).
Boundary A remain in second place after a 4-2 win over Pyramid D.
Fourth-placed Bourne SC C didn’t have a match and now have two games in hand over the leaders.
Services C dropped to fifth after a 4-2 home loss to Holbeach A.
Derek Beba (scr), Sean Swinburn (O49) and Steve Dent (scr) got the wins for Holbeach, with Swinburn getting a 37 break.
A 6-0 win for Donington C saw them climb two places to seventh.
They beat Holbeach D with success for Lee Hempsall (O14), Neil Reynolds (O56), Mat Turner (O21), Neil Favell (O7) and Mick Pearl (O21).
Consti E jumped two places thanks to a 5-1 win over Pyramid A.
Breaks of 44 and 32 from Mark Gregory (O42) in his win over Tom Horspool helped Holbeach C to a 5-1 victory over Sutton Bridge.
Wins from Dan Ashton (O7), Nick Edwards (R7) and Paul Ashton (R14) cemented the win for Holbeach.
Mick Tiller (scr) picked up the solitary point for Sutton Bridge.
At the top of Division Two, Consti G took a hammering, losing 6-0 to Holbeach E.
Holbeach E’s winners were Chris Back (O42), Stuart Sullivan (O35), Aaron Coe (O7), Phil Coaten (O21) and Ben Harding (O28).
The win moves them up to third place.
Despite the loss, Consti G remain at the top but second-placed Consti B are just eight points behind them thanks to a 4-2 win at Gosberton A.
Their winners were John Christian (R7), Martin Fear (O7) and Steve Spencer (R21).
Adam Twigg (O14) and Geoff Wand (R14) got the frames for Gosberton.
Holbeach B dropped from second to fourth following a 5-1 home loss to Consti I.
Barry Haynes (O7) got Holbeach off to a good start with a win over Jonathan Smith (R21), before Consti’s Pete Stokes (R7), John Bellerby (R7), David Twelves (O7) and Richard Geddes (R21) took the next four frames.
Holbeach F moved up two places after a 4-2 win over Services D.
Colin Dodd (O28), Dan Mayfield (O28) and Alex Bourne (O21) were the victors for Holbeach.
Pyramid B fell from fourth to fifth following a 4-2 loss at Services E.
Paul Spicer (O7), Alan Day (R7) and Russ Morse (R7) got the wins for Services.
Donington A moved up two places thanks to a 4-2 win over Consti F.
Two matches in a week helped Gosberton D regain the top spot in Division Three.
In a rearranged game, they beat Consti A 6-0 with wins coming from Dan Hanger (R7), James Parrott (scr), Brad Brinkman (O21), Deac Hempsall (R7) and Paulo Gensiorskyj (O7).
Then on Thursday night came a second win, 4-2, over clubmates Gosberton C. Hanger, Parrott and Gensiorskyj were the winners in that one.
The results leave them four points ahead of Whittlesey C, who have a game in hand.
They won 5-1 at home to Gosberton B. Black ball wins for Paul Cook (O14) and Jason Bloomfield (O14), along with a convincing 52-16 victory for Gary Thewliss (R7) and a win for Simon Parker (O7) got them over the line.
Nigel Goodwin (R21) was Gosberton’s only winner.
It was a good week all round for Whittlesey, with the A team beating Consti J 6-0.
