Bird bags late double as Holbeach United sink Eynesbury to go sixth

Holbeach United 2
Eynesbury Rovers 0

A late double from Will Bird helped Holbeach United beat Eynesbury Rovers 2-0 on Wednesday night – and fired them into the ChromaSport UCL Premier Division’s top six.

Striker Bird netted on 71 and 83 minutes at Carter’s Park to move the Tigers to within eight points of top spot with two games in hand.

Holbeach boss Seb Hayes handed starts to Adam Jackson and Ryan Oliver, who joined in short-term loans from Spalding United and Lincoln United respectively.

It is not expected that either will stay long-term.
