Big donation to local charity

A South Holland charity has been given a boost, just as it opens up its hubs for Warm Places session.

The Safe Places project, part of health and wellbeing charity Tonic Health has been presented with a cheque for £500 by Freemasons John Bennett, Worshipful Master and John Maltby, Charity Steward from the Fenland Daylight Lodge in Long Sutton.

Safe Places provides non-clinical support to those people who are experiencing mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, bereavement, loneliness, and isolation.

Ruth Taplin, Safe Places coordinator, said: “The donation will go allow us to continue to support people by providing safe, friendly, non-judgemental spaces where people of all ages can come along and chat over a cuppa and leave feeling better than when they walked through the door.”

Tonic Health has also opened Warm Spaces hubs at its Spalding and Holbeach Hub.

It will provide refreshments and light bites. For more information, opening times call 01775 725059.
