Ball will build up funds for charities

Motown tribute act The New Foundations will provide the base for raising money for local charities as an annual event returns.

The Rotary Club of Spalding and Welland’s annual Two Lips Charity Ball returns for a seventh year at Springfields Exhibition Centre on Saturday, March 16.

The black tie event has raised thousands for local charities over the years and is continuing to go from strength to strength.

The New Foundations will get the dancers back on their feet again, playing hits such as Baby Now I’ve Found You and Build Me Up Buttercup, as well as covering a host of other Motown and Soul artists.

The Rotary Club’s president elect, Melanie Biggadike, said: “The ball is the biggest event in our club’s calendar.

“This event will be the club’s seventh and we’re pulling out all the stops to make it the best one yet.

We always receive terrific support for the event but there are so many people needing our help that our work will never be done, so if we can sell more tickets, we can extend our help even further.

“Last year’s Two Lips Charity Ball made over £6,000 for good causes and we aim to beat that figure this year.

“Tickets are selling quickly but we still have a few tables available.”

Tickets costing £45 can be booked in singles or by tables.
