Talented Spalding Indoor Bowls Club ace Jordan Philpott has retained the Spalding Junior Open singles title – and banked the £350 prize money to boot.
With 24 of some of the best young players in the country in action, a round robin format of Premier Three style matches determined final group standings, with the top two in each pool qualifying for the quarter finals.
The last eight saw Tom Hall beat Jack Wells 2-0, Chelsea Tomlin see off Ben Wilson 2-1, Kieran Crane dispatch Connor Cinato 2-0 and Philpott knock out Rhys Hill.
The open draw for the semis saw Hall pitched against Crane and an all Spalding tie, with Philpott playing Tomlin. Both matches were hard fought, but both were settled in straight sets, with Philpott and Hall victorious.
With the title up for grabs, a nip and tuck match was again settled in straight sets, with Philpott retaining his title.
The tournament was generously sponsored by Stonehaven Care Home and was played at the Castle Sports Complex.
