Arts project’s cash boost

The arts company that puts on and helps with a host of events in South Holland has been granted another year of funding towards projects.

Transported Arts has been granted the unannounced sum for its ‘Creative Place-Making Projects’ from Arts Council England.
It provided funding for the 2022 to 2025 period with the extra money to allow it to develop projects intended to be carried out between 2026 and 2029.
Among the projects its supported in South Holland are the recently revealed Perch Here trail to brighten up the riverside in Sutton Bridge and the Light Night event in Spalding’s Ayscoughfee Hall.
Transported, operated by the University of Lincoln in this district and Boston, says its next strategy will be entitled ‘Mind the Gap’ and will focus on ‘bridging gaps in cultural provision’.
Sukhy Johal MBE, director of the Centre for Culture and Creativity, said: “The University of Lincoln is proud to support the Transported programme and is excited to continue witnessing their dedication to community consultation and placing local voices at the heart of cultural planning.
“Transported’s commitment to high quality artistic provision and ambition for the communities they work with is truly inspiring.”
