‘Arrest-warrant defendants’ appear in court

Two South Holland men who were the subject of arrest warrants after not answering bail have been dealt with in court.

Aron Findley Duff, of Queens Road, Spalding, and Craig Johnson, of Batemans Close, Gedney, failed to appear before magistrates on May 3 and arrest warrants were issued. Both men appeared before Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on Friday (May 5).

Duff (32) pleaded guilty to two charges – stealing two bottles of wine, worth £7.98, from Aldi on April 10, 2017, and not surrendering to custody at Boston Magistrates’ Court on May 3, 2017.

He was given a 12-month conditional discharge for each offence and, for the theft, was ordered to pay £20 to fund victim services.

Johnson (32) pleaded guilty to damaging an e-cigarette to the value of £69 in Rathkenny Close, Holbeach, on April 9, 2017. He was given a six-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £85 costs and £20 to fund victim services.

A charge of not surrendering to custody at Boston Magistrates’ Court on May 3, 2017, was withdrawn.
