Six jobs created if Crowland Cranes’ expansion plan goes ahead

Crowland Cranes wants to extend its site into an adjoining field in a move expected to create six jobs.

The new area, to be used as a crane storage and demonstration area, will be accessed via the existing entrance to the Crease Drove business.

A design and access statement, submitted with a planning application to South Holland District Council, said: “Crowland Cranes is a long established local business of some 60 years employing around 60 people.
“It has occupied its current base in Crease Drove for around 37 years. Additional space is required to sustain the expansion of the business and to increase its workforce.”

A previous application, not by Crowland Cranes, to allow the field to be used for light industry, was turned down in 2016 due to concerns Crease Drove was not suitable for the extra traffic that would be created.

Crowland Cranes’ application said: “Our application demonstrates that such a highways issue can be simply overcome by virtue of utilising Crowland Cranes’ existing access.”
