South Holland Police are blaming the school holidays for an upsurge in anti-social behaviour.
“The number of anti-social behaviour reports from The Suttons and Holbeach residents has dramatically increased this week,” says a post on the force’s social media page.
“Calls from Sutton Bridge stated that youths in the woods behind Memorial Park are throwing items at nearby properties.
“A call from Sutton Bridge Golf Club said three youths caused damage to the fairway and greens, broken rakes and took tee blockers,” said the Facebook post.
Officer have names for some of those suspected to be involved and will be making contact with them.
In Holbeach, police had several calls about youths accessing a building site off Damgate, via the footpath between Damgate and Branches Lane.
The calls were coming in both during the hours of darkness and daylight.
“We can definitely tell it’s half-term,” the post adds
“This is concerning as the site has many dangers and a large pond. We don’t want anyone injured or any property damaged,” says the post.
“Also in Holbeach we have had a report that a group of youths walking up and down Fishpond Lane have been kicking doors as they go along the street, which is a regular occurrence,” it adds.
Officers have warned that there are properties with CCTV and video doorbells along the street and they will be looking at the footage to identify those taking part.
“We will be visiting all those identified and dealing with them robustly,” the force added.
“Do you know where they are? I suspect that many of you don’t,” said the Facebook post.
The Spalding Estates local policing team is continuing to make drug use and supply a priority – according to an update from the team.
Officers are asking for any information, specially about properties with frequent visitors at unusual times.
Any information can be made on 101, via the force website or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
