Allstars cheered by chance of going to USA

Empire Elite Allstars are celebrating an astounding weekend at the Cheer City Summer Showdown at the University of Warwick in Coventry.
The Spalding and Crowland-based cheerleading squad pulled off a string of top-class results to book a place in the grand national finals in Florida next April.
A delighted club spokesman said: “Wow! What a weekend. It was our most successful competition to date with every team scoring over 90 per cent, six hitting zero, two grand champions, and VIP setting a record with a score of 95.14 per cent, with the Rebels team receiving a bid for the grand nationals in Florida.
“The divisions were very hard but the athletes worked their socks off and performed like they never have before, setting fire to that performance floor.
“There were lots of great placements and lots of proud moments.”
South Lincolnshire’s only allstar cheer and dance club is a registered CIC and is in its fifth season, offering allstar cheerleading, pom, jazz, lyrical and hip hop.
The club was set up in Crowland in 2018 by Nikita Capes, looking to offer something different to young people in the area and promote physical activity for young girls.
She said: “My recreational cheer and dance classes became very popular, very quickly, and led to the start of Empire Elite Allstars with a second gym location in Spalding opening in 2021.”
Classes are held at Unit 6, Stumps Lane, Spalding and Unit 2, Pinnacle Close, Crowland.
They cater for ages three-upwards and include cheerleading, tumbling and dance.
