The children and staff of Spalding’s Ayscoughfee Hall School have enjoyed learning about how to keep their mind and body healthy as part of their Wellbeing Week.
The initiative began with a warm welcome and smiles from the Year 6 children who took on the daily role of morning greeters.
Throughout the week the children took part in mindfulness and relaxation activities including yoga and sensory fun. The junior children learnt how to keep positive, happy and relaxed with a fabulous session from Hummingbird Hypnotherapy and made positivity boxes, adding lovely comments about each other for whenever they need a little boost.
All the children took part in skipping workshops raising funds for the British Heart Foundation, swimming lessons and a football skills workshop.
Wake up Wednesday saw the children dress in sports clothes and along with their parents took part in a Mindfulness Mile.
On Friday the children enjoyed making and eating delicious fruit kebabs.
Teresa Wright, headteacher said: “The children thoroughly enjoyed the activities and have shown great maturity in their participation.
“It is wonderful to be able to get together as a school once again with family members joining in with the fun, whilst delivering the important message of how we can stay healthy and keep a happy mind.”
