A uniform idea to help parents

Holbeach Methodist Church is launching a uniform exchange scheme to help University Academy Holbeach (UAH) parents and pupils.

The scheme will see uniform items no longer needed donated to help others.

The Rev Luke Smith said: “As well as the cost of uniforms for growing children at a time of an increasing squeeze on purchasing power, it is estimated that 350,000 tonnes of clothing goes to landfill every year; that is 30 per cent of our unwanted clothing.”

Items will be available at the Church each Thursday from 9.45am to 11am starting on February 10.

The entrance is on Albert Walk with car parking available.

“It’s as simple as that, no questions asked and it is completely free of charge,” added the Rev Smith.

“If you prefer you can contact us on 01406 493235 to ask if we have what you are looking for so that you don’t have a wasted journey.

“We have over 200 items available of various sizes.”
