Charity lunch gets tails up

Spalding Golf Club’s ladies’ section held a dinner to raise money for the Guide Dogs for the Blind last week.

The charity has been chosen by the 2020 ladies’ captain Margaret Barkway to support throughout her year in the position.

Terry Rodgers, an ambassador for Guide Dogs for the Blind spoke to the guests about his experiences of the charity and the work they do.

He was joined by local beneficiaries of the charity, Peter Admans and Dennis Pearson.

Margaret said of the luncheon: “This is the big lunch for the ladies we hold every year in February.

“We were absolutely delighted with the turn out and it was fantastic listening to the speakers.”

Jane Shelley, Guide Dogs for the Blind’s community fundraising relationship manager, said: “We’d like to say a massive thank you to Spalding Golf Club for their considerable fund raising. It will make a huge difference locally to people’s daily lives.”
