Exhibition of ninety gorgeous deckchairs

Past Inspired Launch Deckchairs (3)

Ninety beautiful deckchairs designed by members of our local community in collaboration with an artist last year are coming together in a stunning display at Springfields Festival Gardens.

Free designing workshops took place at Holbeach Library, Holbeach Youth Centre and Boston Guildhall as part of the Transported arts programme’s consultation phase last July.

Local participants worked with artist David Mackie to come up with a range of designs for deckchair “artworks”, inspired by and celebrating Lincolnshire heritage, agriculture, horticulture and food processing.

As a result of the workshops, David has produced 90 different deckchairs. After a small tour of Boston Borough and South Holland, the deckchairs are all coming together for the very first time at a special display taking place at Springfields Festival Gardens, from tomorrow (Friday) to Monday, July 28.

If you were at one of the original workshops you may well spot your design! Transported would love to see that, so if you do find “your” deckchair, then upload a picture of yourself on social media and tag it #transported.
