Pensioner in her 80s dies after van collision

A woman in her 80s has died following a road traffic collision with a van in Sutton Bridge yesterday (Tuesday, October 7).

The incident took place at 1.45pm on Bridge Road and involved a white Transit van.

A spokesman for Lincolnshire Police: “We are appealing for witnesses after a woman has sadly died following a collision in Sutton Bridge.

“The collision involved a white Ford Transit van and a woman in her 80s. The injured woman was taken to hospital but has sadly died overnight.”

Sgt Adam Doona, Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “I send my deepest condolences to the woman’s family.

“As part of our investigation we are appealing for any information and I would ask that anyone who saw the collision or either the white Ford van being driven towards the scene or the woman as she walked in the area, to get in touch.

”It’s really important that we have as much detail as is possible to fully understand what has happened here and I’d be really grateful for anyone who does have information to let us know.

“Anyone who witnessed the collision or has any recorded footage, dashcam/headcam, doorbell footage or other CCTV footage is asked to get in touch with the Investigating Officer.”
