Spalding RFC have received a bye into the third round of the RFU Senior Vase after their opponents failed to show up on Saturday.
Town arrived at Notts Moderns for their clash, but found no opposition there – making it something of a wasted trip for them.
However, the RFU have confirmed that the Elephants will automatically advance to the draw for round three, with the fixture taking place on October 12.
This weekend sees Spalding’s Presidents Weekend, which is being held at the Memorial Field.
There will be two senior matches on Saturday, with the juniors and minis in action on Sunday.
The first team are entertaining Huntingdon in Midlands Three East (North) at 3pm, while the Nomads are due to be playing Boston in a Merit League match.
There will be a real ale bar and barbecue at pitchside for supporters, while later on there will be live music to enjoy.
Former Town captain Richard Cooke is on organising duty for the weekend.
