A tree-planting day will take place at Holbeach’s Hallgate Cemetery, this Sunday (September 22), starting at 10am.
Recent cemetery improvements have included a memorial wall and garden, as well as resurfacing the roadway.
Parish Council member Coun Rudkin said of Sunday’s event: “The cemetery has really come a long way since it opened in 2009 and I have been glad to have been a part of shaping that.
“Holbeach in Bloom do all kinds of work like this across the town and getting the support from the council to plant more trees will help combat the carbon footprint of all the development going on around the cemetery and give nature somewhere else to live.
“The trees have come from a grant donation by the Woodland Trust and haven’t cost parishioners a penny. Working smarter to get better results has really paid off.”
