Memory walk for Mum a success

A Spalding woman who organised a Memory Walk and bake sale has raised more than £100 for the Alzheimer’s Society.

Sandra Hudson, who is registered blind, set up the walk after her mother, Margaret Croft, was diagnosed with vascular dementia.

She said of Thursday’s walk: “We all enjoyed a fabulous day in the Springfield’s garden and shopping centre.

“The staff were friendly and I’m pleased that [Springfields’] Andy and Inga were on hand to show us around the gardens.

“They showed us things that, for people with sight loss, we wouldn’t normally see.

“We were treated like stars huge thanks to everyone involved.”

A number of people who took part were sight impaired.

Sandra said her mother has already been helped by Alzheimer’s Society:

“She enjoys going to a club where she meets people who maybe are the same as her. She’s been having hot lunches and she’s been joining in.”
