Eleanor’s historic award

The last ever Baden Powell Award to be given out in Spalding has been awarded to a hard-working Guide.

Eleanor Mowbray (14), of 1st Pinchbeck (St Mary) Guide Unit, has been presented with her Baden Powell Award. To gain the award she had to complete ten challenges which included holding a Ready, Steady, Cook evening, gaining the water safety badge and organising an international evening. She then had to attend a residential weekend.

This is the last award of this kind that will be given to any girl in Spalding District Guides as Girlguiding has introduced a new programme for all sections (Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Rangers).

Girls in each section will now work towards a Gold Award.

Pinchbeck Guides meet on Wednesday evenings. To register an interest to www.girlguiding.org.uk
