Nothing ‘humerus’ about Clarke’s latest crash

Aaron Clarke is facing a spell on the National Superstock 600 class sidelines after breaking his arm at Knockhill.

The young Kirton racer had a torrid time in Scotland as he crashed twice in the build up to the race.

The second of Clarke’s crashes – which saw him highside his Gearlink Kawasaki in morning practice at turn seven – ruled him out of Sunday’s race.

He was taken to hospital after the heavy fall where it was confirmed that the teenager had suffered a broken humerus.

The injury will prevent Clarke from taking part in the next round at Brands Hatch on July 20.

His participation at the following round – three weeks later at Thruxton – is also in doubt depending on how the injury heals.

Clarke had been doing well in free practice, but suffered a small crash in the first qualifying session where he lost the front going into turn two.

A mechanical fault hampered his progress after that, but he battled on and just made it onto the grid by the skin of his teeth.
