South Holland aces make their mark at Adrian Flux Arena’s first ‘Destruction Derby’

It was a case of bangers and crash as the Adrian Flux Arena in King’s Lynn staged its first-ever Destruction Derby night.

In the bangers, it wasn’t how many laps they could do – it was about survival to become the event’s ‘Master of Destruction’, with each outing seeing who could destroy the opposition to be last car running.

Demolition was the name of the game and for the first staging of the event, which received raved reviews from the drivers.

In the bangers, Spalding’s Ross Coleman made a rare King’s Lynn outing and was well amongst the action.

The same could be said of Crowland’s Callum White, with both returning cars from the previous weekend at a meeting in Skegness and both taking home a well wrecked motor, or motors in the case of White who took two cars for battle.

They weren’t winners of the last car running, but they certainly gave it their all.

The 2 Litre Saloon Stock Cars completed the line up – and they were in typical hard-hitting all-or-nothing form.

It was an outstanding night of racing and crashing; the Stock Car fan dream night. Holbeach’s Wesley Starmer picked up the best results of the locals with a great return to form.

Two sixth places for his credit in the preliminary heats and a third place in the main feature final race of the evening.

Spalding’s Tom Yould also finished well with a credible ninth and seventh places across the night.

The next action at the Flux is on Saturday, July 13 (5pm).

That will see the Pre-90 2L Banger Rear Wheel Drive, Micro Bangers, 1300 Stock Cars and Junior Bangers in action.

That will be complemented by the excellent 1300 Stock Cars in what will be their last event before their world final race. Visit www.stockcar-racing.co.uk for details.
