Holbeach Town and Country Fayre cancelled

This weekend’s Holbeach Town and Country Fayre has been cancelled after Holbeach registered one of the highest rainfalls in the country over the past two days.

In a statement, organisers of the event, which was celebrating its 25th year, said: “After a lengthy meeting with the committee and the land owner, it is with great regret that due to the amount of rain we have had and the rain that is due to come before the weekend, we have been left with no choice but to cancel the 2019 Holbeach Town & Country Fayre.

“The show will not be scheduled for another date this year, instead we will focus our efforts on the 2020 show.”

Holbeach has had 72mm of rainfall in the past 24 hours, one of the highest readings in the country, which is “well over monthly average in one day”, according to Netweather.
