A group set up to bring the remains of a famous explorer back to Donington are holding a public meeting on Monday (June 3) to explain where they are in the process.
The Matthew Flinders Bring Him Home group were formed earlier this year after the remains of the man who first named Australia was found during building work at Euston Station in London.
Flinders grew up in the village and the campaign group are hoping to bring his remains back there.
Monday’s public meeting takes place at the Ruby Hunt Centre in Church Street at 7pm.
A spokesman for the group said: “The meeting is being held so the group can inform everyone about the progress that has been made so far and the aims of the group going forward to have Matthew Flinders returned to his birthplace.”
