Thousands flocked to the Spalding Festival last weekend with the event looking likely to raise even more money for local charities than previous years.

It’s the fourth year of the Spalding Round Table event that was previously named a beer and music festival.

There was plenty of both those on offer at the Castle Sports Complex this year.

But there was also more for families to do, plenty of food options and a craft market.

This year’s was also the first to have both an outdoor and indoor stage.

Organisers say that takings over the weekend were up 20 per cent on last year and they’re hopeful the event will raise even more than last year’s £20,000 for charities.

Matt Clarke, who is part of the event’s organising committee, said: “It was really, really good and we were happy with the changes we made.

“We changed the name from a beer and music event to a festival and I think it really worked as an event for all the community.

“One of the biggest things is we heard lots about people bringing friends and family from around together.

“If we can become that kind of destination to all meet up every year it provides the foundations for us to grow and grow each year going forward.”
