Fire destroys flat in Donington

‘Carelessly discarded smoking materials’ was the cause of a fire that severely damaged a Donington flat last night.

An emergency response team and five fire crews including ones from Donington and Spalding attended the blaze at Arnhem Way at around 6.45pm yesterday evening (Monday).

Two breathing apparatus and one hose reel was used to put the fire out.

It’s not clear as yet if anyone was in the building at the time or if there are any injuries.
