Spalding Air Cadets officer hits new heights

Spalding RAF Air Cadets’ Training Officer Sergeant Mark Dormer has landed a prestigious promotion.

The 57-year-old has been accepted as a Senior Non Commission Officer for the RAF Air Cadets organisation.

He’s been a civilian instructor of the 1406 (Spalding) Squadron for a number of years.

Mark works as an engineer in civilian life having previously served in the RAF (Aircraft Technician Airframes) division in the UK and Germany and training Royal Saudi Air Force personnel.

A spokesman for the Spalding squadron, said: “Mark brings to the team over 34 years of experience working with young people of all abilities, ready to challenge and support the Cadets to achieve their goals.

“Mark will continue as his role as Squadron Training Officer but also now support the cadets with drill, dress and discipline issues. On behalf of the squadron we wish Mark all the best with his new position.”
