Just referring to your letter “Nightmare on the A16”.
I have to make the drive to Peterborough most mornings and I always use the old A1073 as it feels safer to drive on, although the road is in bad shape and people still speed past me.
The problem with Crowland is people let two or three car out at a time at the junctions which holds up the traffic on James Road.
You never see cars waiting at these junctions as they’re more free flowing than the cars which should be driving down the road to the roundabout to join the A16.
Stop being so polite and let these drivers just wait at the junction.
I now find it much quicker to turn off at the junction for the garden centre and drive through Crowland get to the junction at the end of town and drive straight out as Mr goody-goody had stopped to let all the traffic out.
You didn’t have this problem a couple of years ago, but as more and more house are being built it’s only going to get worse.
The A16 should have been a dual carriageway in the first place, but they know best.
