LETTERS – Nothing at memorial

Sunday, November 11, 2018, what a special day for all armed forces and past heroes of the First and Second World Wars.

At 10.40am I proceeded, along with several others, to Pinchbeck War Memorial to pay my respects and gratitude for life today.

At 11.30am still no ceremony, no minute’s silence – nothing!

Apparently the service was taking place in the church.

Not everyone wishes to attend church but we all know the date, time and location to honour
our heroes.

I along with several others feel cheated that on such a momentous occasion nothing was taking place at Pinchbeck War Memorial at the appropriate time.

For whatever reason this decision was made, for me, it was disappointing and felt disrespectful.
