Crowland children take grandparents to school

Grandparents were invited into a Crowland primary school last week for a special breakfast.

To celebrate National Grandparents Day, South View Community Primary School invited the children to bring in their slightly older relatives for a scrumptious early meal on Thurday and Friday, October 4 and 5.

Headteacher Mrs Joanne Tomlins said: “We have so many dedicated grandparents who not only support their grandchildren, but also really love spending time with them.

“National Grandparents Day gave us the ideal opportunity to show them how much we appreciate them… and what better way to do that than with a bacon roll!”

Grandparent, Susan Vining commented: “What a lovely kind, thoughtful idea to include grandparents.

“It was lovely to be able to come to the school, the food was hot and tasty, the fruit selection great and loved the classic music playing too. Thank you very much South View – it would be lovely to come again.

Lily Knox (6), said: “My grandad had a sausage sandwich but I had a bacon one, it was lovely.”
Callie Smith (10) added: “My nan really enjoyed seeing my school and said the breakfast was lovely.

“Our dinner ladies are really nice and I had a great time.”
