A Spalding man has been banned from driving for 40 months for drink driving after magistrates heard he had previous convictions for the same offence.
Jason John Guy, 43, of Barge Close admitted driving with excess alcohol when he appeared at Boston Magistrates Court.
Prosecuting, Jim Clare said that on July 12, police received a report that a driver was drunk and at 8.45pm they found Guy in his Vauxhall Astra in St Thomas Road.
He said he gave a reading of 72 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, more than twice the legal limit of 35.
Mitigating, Tony Davies said Guy, an agricultural worker, had intended to park his car around the corner from his girlfriend’s home and arrange to be picked up.
The magistrates were told he had previous convictions for this offence, the most recent being in 2013.
They told him he was ‘well aware of the consequences of drink driving’ and warned him that given his track record ‘another conviction might mean custody’.
Guy was banned from driving and also fined £190 and ordered to pay £115 in costs and charges.
