Man charged with rape and sexual offences

A 40-year-old man has been charged with rape, sexual assault by penetration, and sexual assault by touching, in Spalding.

Christopher Morris, of Parkside Crescent, appeared before Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday August 5 where he was remanded to prison while awaiting a plea hearing at Lincoln Crown Court on September 2.

The allegations relate to an incident reported to have taken place at an address in Spalding on July 29.

A spokesman for Lincolnshire Police said: “If you have experienced rape, sexual assault, or any other sexual offence, we encourage you to report it as soon as possible.

“However, we understand that people may choose to come forward days, months, or even years later for many different reasons. It is never too late to seek support or make a report.

“Whenever you feel ready, your experience matters, and support is available.

“Even if you’re not 100 per cent sure, we want to hear from you so that we can make sure you’re safe.

“If you’re not ready to talk to the police just yet, that’s OK.
