Holbeach’s Whiskers helps raise a smile

The athletic exploits of a familiar face at Holbeach Football Club have helped a local charity.

Whiskers took part in the annual Sue Ryder Mascot Gold Cup which was held at Wetherby Racecourse earlier this year.

Trustees of the Holbeach United Sports Academy decided to donate the £750 raised through sponsorship to the Callum Pite Smile Charity which was created in memory of a Spalding teenager who died from a rare form of bone cancer in 2014.

The charity raises money for gifts or outings for young people aged from 13 to 19 from Lincolnshire, Norfolk, Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, Suffolk and Hertfordshire who are being treated for cancer.

Whiskers is sponsored by C Carters estate agent in Holbeach and footage of the race has been uploaded to social media platform YouTube.

The cheque was presented to Callum’s mum Michelle Pite at a recent sixes tournament.
