As the schools close for summer, the roadworks move in with work at 963 locations across Lincolnshire until September.
The county council is working alongside partners Kier with Lincoln-based Minster Surfacing to carry out the mammoth project while traffic is lighter during the holiday season.
“When everyone else goes off for their summer holidays, we’re hard at work repairing roads across the county. This summer we are working on more roads than ever before,” said Bruce Spencer-Knott, managing director.
“We have been investing in cutting edge technology which means we can work better, quicker and more safely than ever before. We are also making our roadworks much greener through recycling technology,” he added.
A trial scheme is being conducted using recycled plastic as a binding agent for pothole and patch repair.
“We are recycling 50 per cent of the material we remove from old road services,” said Mr Spencer-Knott.
“We have been investing in cutting edge technology which means we can work better, quicker and more safely than ever before,” he added.
“We are trialling the latest 3D scanning technology which means we can accurately measure the width and depth of road surfaces we need to lay without having to close roads as we have had to do in the past.”

Surface dressing is also taking place in the area with each scheme taking up to two days but requiring a
seven-day 20mph speed limit.
Washway Road, Whaplode; Willow Walk, Osier Road and Rutland Close, Spalding; Stonegate, Cowbit; A1175, Deeping St Nicholas; Pipwell Gate, Moulton; Main Road, Gedney Drove End; Hallgate, Gedney Dyke and Mill Lane, Holbeach, are on the agenda.
