Council puts cashless car parking on hold

After weeks of cashless car parking controversy and confusion, South Holland District Council has scrapped immediate plans to change Spalding’s ticket machines.

The council has issued a statement saying plans to upgrade its car park payment machines by today (Friday, June 22) are no longer going ahead.

The statement reads: “Following internal discussions and feedback from residents, we have decided to put the installation of new machines on hold while we talk with users to make sure that we are providing the best service possible to those looking to park in the town.

“We apologise for the confusion during our recent work regarding the machines. We want to make sure that as many people as possible can come to Spalding, park and enjoy our unique town centre, attractions and facilities.”
