A Holbeach man has appeared in court for the second time for assaulting his mother while he was drunk.
Kieron McPherson (24), of Marshlands Drive, admitted assaulting Janet McPherson by beating when he
appeared at Boston Magistrates Court.
Emma Wright, prosecuting, said police were called to a domestic incident at their home on April 18 after
McPherson had arrived home drunk and demanded money from his mother.
When she said she didn’t have any, he threw her to the ground, threw her keys away and threatened to kill
her if she didn’t give him money, leaving her with an injured elbow, said Ms Wright.
He told police he found it difficult to stop drinking once he had started and liked to drink himself into
oblivion, but did allege she had only fallen to the ground because he had fallen on her, the court heard.
Mitigating, Tony Cunningham said McPherson accepted he was drinking very heavily and that he had
“real problems with alcohol”.
He said he had previously been on an alcohol monitoring tag after the first assault on his mother in
January, but the incident had occurred after that had been taken off.
The magistrates ordered him to wear another tag for four months and to undergo five rehabilitation days.
He was also ordered to pay his mother £100 in compensation and £85 in charges.
