LETTER: Council’s mind is made up on street lights

There’s very little interest in the street lighting switch-off – I’m not surprised, it doesn’t matter what viewpoints the general public has, the council doesn’t listen as its minds is already made up on what is going to happen.

We as a community wanted a safer crossing on hearing of changes on the A17. Meetings were had, no-one listened, we were given the most ridiculous set up which made things more dangerous.

Even John Hayes MP said the council should listen more to the wants of the public.

They moved our old path and built a new one. Surely the money used for a new path would have been more beneficial in making it safer crossing on the A17, plus with a 800-signature petition it would have made more sense.

A vote of no confidence in the council is my view.
