Chance to play Spalding festival

Young musicians can get their art to the masses thanks to weekend showcase slots at this year’s Spalding Beer and Music Festival.

Founder member and musical director Mark Le Sage is asking for young local musical talent to step forward.

He said: “We have an opportunity to showcase young singers and musicians at this years event by having a small outside stage during Saturday and Sunday afternoon, we are looking for solo singer songwriters, or duos, guitarists or keyboard players who can accompany themselves to help us with this year’s festival.”

The festival has hosted a huge range of musical acts in the past, including veteran Spalding act Zebra.

But this year Mark would like some young blood in the musical mix stating that ideally the acts in the showcase slots are aged under 21 but he also says it wasn’t vital.

This year’s event will take place over the Bank Holiday weekend of May 25 to 27.

Again, it will be a family fun weekend with real ales and ciders, live music and a range of food.

Mark said: “This years Spalding Beer and Music Festival is lining up to be bigger and better than last year.”

To apply to play at this year’s festival, email [email protected] and include a brief band or act biography, along with a link or attachment to a performance.

The closing date to register is March 31.
