Gin-ormous fun for Mia

A bubbly evening of fun has helped Spalding Lions raise money for a local girl.

Last Friday, February 16, the group held a Gin and Prosecco Evening in aid of the Mia and Me Appeal at Spalding Services Club in High Street.

The appeal has been set up to help improve the quality of life of 18-month-old Mia Clucas from Cowbit who has an abnormal brain and is one of only a few 100 in the world to have Coffin-Siris-Syndrome (CSS).

The amount raised was still being counted as The Voice went to press.

The Lions’ Elaine Mothers, said: “We had a fabulous evening with 61 attending.”

The Lions hold a host of events for local charities with the next its annual race night tomorrow (Friday) at the South Holland Centre.

The event starts at 7pm and includes a sausage and mash supper.
