LETTER: Most do not observe the traffic lights at Pinchbeck Road junction

In support of the letter written by A Chalkley, Pinchbeck on February 1, I would like to add that seven out of ten walkers or cyclists do not observe the traffic lights at the junction of Pinchbeck Road and Sherwood Drive, where I am a resident.

On the traffic light there is a button for one to press before crossing as a pedestrian to allow walkers or cyclists to cross in their turn.

This is not observed, or if used or not even obeyed.

The number of times I have moved out of Sherwood Drive as the lights have gone green to find either a pedestrian or cyclist crossing the road in front of my car.

Needless to say the traffic lights are also not observed by all car drivers travelling from Pinchbeck to Spalding and they have been seen driving straight through the red light.

One of these days a serious accident will happen at the top of Sherwood Drive which will not be the fault of the driver of a car leaving the junction when the lights are green.
