Ten new rural police vehicles join fleet

Ten Ford Kugas have joined Lincolnshire Police’s ranks to help officers tackle crime in tough conditions in Lincolnshire.

The vehicles, which will be used in South Holland when needed, are designed to cover fields and farm tracks, as well as difficult winter weather conditions such as icy or flooded roads.

The vehicles will cost £195,000, which includes the cost of converting them to operational police vehicles.

Hare coursing is a current focus for rural crime enforcers. Lincolnshire Police said since April, they’ve seized 35 dogs, 11 vehicles and arrested 21 people. Police have also recently purchased drones and quad bikes.
