Respected Stamford AFC skipper Richard Jones has backed Graham Drury to be a big success at Holbeach United.
Drury brought the talented defender to Stamford back in 2012 and immediately made him captain.
The duo were pivotal in guiding the Daniels to second place in Evo-Stik League Division One South before the boss moved on to Boston United.
And Jones, brother of Spalding United striker Mark, reckons Drury brings a lot to the table.
Jones said: “With my time working with Graham I learned that he’s a great motivator and knows how to get the best out of each individual. His man management skills are probably his strongest point.
“But he’s a very good tactician and does his homework on opposition teams and players to know exactly how to set up on match day.
“He’s good to have around the dressing room because he brings energy and keeps everybody motivated – and I’ll always be thankful to him that he gave me my chance at Stamford.
“I wish him and John Chand luck at Holbeach.”
