Chance to join or hear church choir’s rendition of Crucifixion

The choir of Holbeach Parish Church will be joined by singers from across the district to give a performance of the ever-popular Crucifixion by the Victorian composer John Stainer.

Their performance will be enriched with the voices of two professional soloists – Howard Clinkard and Dominic Rose from Leeds Cathedral.
David Shepherd, the organist at Boston Stump, will accompany the choir, and the performance will be by conducted by former assistant cathedral organist and choirmaster, Barry Lancaster, who is director of music at Holbeach Parish Church.

Anyone interested in singing this famous work should email Barry at [email protected] or just turn up for the rehearsal from 3.30pm-5pm on Sunday, April 2, in the church.
Music will be provided and tea and light refreshments will be available from 5pm (£5 charge to cover costs of performance, music and tea).
The performance will follow on at 6.30pm, and everyone is welcome. Admission is free, but there will be a retiring collection.
