Team Holbeach roar to fine podium at Rallye De Hannut in season opener

A podium finish at the Rallye De Hannut served as a great start to the new season for P & R Plant Hire Rally Team Holbeach.

Driver David Tinn and his co-driver Giles Dykes scured third place overall in their Ex Works Proton at the event in Belgium.

Some 185 cars started the rally, which had four stages run three times. All of the stages had something different to offer – with some flat-out patches mixed with technical elements in a host of differing villages.

Tinn said: “The event was a real eye opener – the Belgians just love their motorsport. Large crowds gathered over the entire route and the villages we passed through were alive with people.

“We had a trouble free run to a podium finish of third overall, which is a great result for the team on what will not be our last visit to Belgium.

“Giles and I would like to thanks the team for all keeping us going when service time was tight – Joel, Conall, James and the transporter driver David, without you all we couldn’t have done the event.

“Also massive thanks to Paddy Plaice for his continued support.”
