Rare chance to visit Spalding Gentlemen’s Society

There is a rare opportunity to look around Spalding Gentlemen’s Society on Wednesday, June 4.

Founded in 1710, the Broad Street establishment is one of the oldest learned societies in the country and the earliest provincial association for the encouragement of antiquarianism. Among its many notable members were Sir Isaac Newton and his biographer and antiquarian William Stukeley.

Join curator Tom Grimes on a special tour of the museum as part of South Kesteven District Council’s theme of Lincolnshire’s Age of Scientific Discovery.
Free places (£1 booking fee). Book online at www.southkesteven.gov.uk or call 01476 406158.
