South Lincs swimmers are city slickers with impressive medal haul in Peterborough

A total of 19 swimmers from Spalding-based South Lincs Competitive Swimming Club returned home from the City of Peterborough Winter Open Meet with a whopping 30 medals.

The three-day event produced 13 gold medals, ten silvers and seven bronzes, as well as a plethora of personal best (PB), county (CQT) and midland (MQT) times.

Stand out performances included that of Hannah Willis, who gained gold medals in all of her events, Luke Blanchard for making two open finals and Aurinjia Maliauskaite for making an open final in 50m freestyle at just 12-years-old.

The team also produced three of the top six girls overall, which is based on points scored over all events out of all swimmers in all age groups.

Dusty Saines (2nd), Hannah Willis (4th) and Elisha Cookson (6th) all performed superbly.

That helped South Lincs place third out of 12 teams overall on the day.
