The tough task which faced judges in South Holland Business Awards 2016 was highlighted in one particular category.
The Apprentice of the Year award was split four ways between the shortlisted candidates – Kirsty Buffham (Fairnet Commercial Services), Jacques Ripley (Maples Solicitors), Nicole Sleaford (Infotel Solutions) and Lisa Wright (National Centre for Food Manufacturing).
The annual awards event was in its fourth year and more than 200 guests were at Springfields Conference and Events Centre last Thursday to celebrate the best of the district’s local businesses and employees and hear the names of the winners revealed.
A drinks reception (sponsored by Moore Thompson) was followed by a three-course meal, live entertainment and the awards ceremony. Compere was Radio Lincolnshire presenter Melvyn Prior.
Phil Scarlett, president of Spalding and District Chamber of Commerce, said: “The South Holland district area is full of talent and excellent service, and these awards provide a platform to recognise and showcase such work in an area which sometimes may go unnoticed in such a large county.
“The talent in the area is so diverse that judging this year was notably challenging.
“After shortlisting four names for one of the categories, the judges found it difficult to decide as each one was worthy in their own right. As such, one category in particular received multiple winners.”
Joe Verde, chief executive officer of Pinchbeck firm PSP IT, said It had been a pleasure to be the headline sponsor for 2016 and to recognise excellence in local business.
