Table-topping Peterborough Sports hand Holbeach United a home reverse

Holbeach United 1
Peterborough Sports 4

Life after Tom Roberts began with a 4-1 home loss against ChromaSport UCL Premier Division leaders Peterborough Sports for Holbeach United on Wednesday night.

The Tigers trailed 1-0 at the break thanks to a strike from the free-scoring Mark Jones, then Sports doubled their lead through Josh Moreman early in the second period.

Dan Banister put the game behind doubt with a third for the city side, but Josh Ford did bury a penalty six minutes from time to give the Tigers a consolation.

However, Sports had the last work when Jack Barron bagged goal number four.

Martyn Cundy was in caretaker charge of the Tigers and it remains to be seen if he’ll take the top job full time.
