Tough Snowdon hike by Spalding Bakery staff raises £3,659 for charity

Staff at Spalding Bakery have presented the proceeds of a tough fundraising walk to the summit of Snowdon.

It took Andy Murray, Chris Gadd, George Dickson, Sheryl Bullock, Trace Dance, Paul Palmer, Sam Brittain, Jason Griffiths and Jon Tomlinson three and a half hours to do the 7km climb, battling 60mph winds near the end.

But it was worth it when the nine friends’ effort raised £3,659, with £2,100 going to Cancer Research UK and £1,559 for Callum Pite’s Smile Charity.

Callum, of Pinchbeck, died in 2013 from a rare form of bone cancer, aged 14. The charity set up in his name supports cancer sufferers aged 13 to 19 in and Lincolnshire and nearby.
Spalding Bakery has chosen to support it for a year, so far donating £3,100.
